Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.5 is generally available (GA). It is a simple, agentless automation platform that accelerates automation adoption at scale and empowers automation developers. This article describes the new features of Ansible Automation Platform 2.5.

    1. Unified user interface

Ansible Automation Platform 2.5  introduces a new, unified user interface. This interface allows you to access RBAC for both the automation controller and Event-Driven Ansible. Additionally, the automation controller, Event-Driven Ansible, and Automation Hub are all integrated into this single UI, bringing together all your favorite automation tools in one centralized location.

    2. Containerized platform installation

Starting with Ansible Automation Platform 2.5, three fully tested on-premise deployment models are available: RPM-based installer, operator, and containerized installer. In addition to the existing RPM-based installer and operator, support for the containerized installer is being added. The containerized installer offers the same platform functionality as other Ansible Automation Platform deployment options and is designed specifically for environments where ease of installation and a minimal footprint are essential.

    3. Ansible development tools

Ansible development tools are a suite of integrated and supported capabilities included with Ansible Automation Platform. Ansible development tools support automation engineers and developers of all skill levels to consistently create, test, and deploy Ansible Playbooks and collections while boosting productivity and efficiency.

    4. Upgrades to Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonX code assistant

Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant is a generative AI service designed to help users build Ansible Playbooks, even without extensive experience or development skills. This new release brings exciting features such as on-the-fly prompt refinement for better contextual clarity and correctness, an integrated user guide interface for ease of use, and the generation of a full Ansible Playbook with a simple text prompt.

    5. Ansible quick starts

New interactive, step-by-step guides within the Ansible Automation Platform's GUI help new users quickly learn key tasks and functions tailored to their specific needs.
