This blog summarizes key changes for Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant.
New option for product trial: Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant was announced as technical preview in May 2023 for a duration of about 6 months. However, based on significant community interest, the technical preview has been extended until March 15, 2024.
For Ansible developers looking to access the commercial Ansible Lightspeed service, you can now sign-up for a trial for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and separately sign-up for an IBM watsonx Code Assistant subscription. Please refer to IBM website for additional subscription options from IBM.
Model customisation / fine tuning: One of the key differentiating factors of Ansible Lightspeed is it being trained on huge data sets of Ansible content. With model customization, Ansible Lightspeed users can now fine tune the model using their own existing Ansible content. This allows your organisation to generate tailored recommendations that are specific to your needs and automation patterns.
General availability of Ansible code bot: Ansible code bot provides recommendations for improving playbook’s quality, promoting established practices, patterns, and behaviors, while mitigating common errors that may introduce bugs or complicate playbook maintenance. With its seamless integration with GitHub, you can scan your new and legacy code with the same ease. You can run ad-hoc scans on your repo or schedule the scans for continuous monitoring and recommendations.
Please note that Ansible code bot is available with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and does not require either Ansible Lightspeed or an IBM watsonx Code Assistant subscription.
Administrative dashboard. This feature provides the ability for Ansible administrators to see usage of Ansible Lightspeed + watsonx Code Assistant. Users are now able to monitor metrics related to generative AI requests that flow through the service, as well as gather feedback that their end-users are submitting.
