Earlier this year we held an event called Red Hat Developer Exchange which is a one day conference for developers who leverage any of the Red Hat products. We had a great bunch of sessions but, one of the ones I did was about "Secure Development Practices." What does that mean, you might ask?

Well, it means, what can I change about my methods and techniques to make it more likely that the development that takes place in my organization is as secure as it can be. In other words, not a session about "tips and tricks for security" or "known vulnerabilities" but, rather, what should we do differently so that security is a "first order citizen" in our development practices.

So, I gathered up a few of the security experts within Red Hat, and, with help from the audience, asked them for guidance about development methods. The video below is the outcome.
