Abstract
Podman is a daemonless container engine for running & managing OCI containers on Linux (unlike docker). In this session you will learn from the experts about the hisory of containers, how docker quickly became close to a de facto industry standard for containers, why enterprises and ecosystem is relying on OCI compliant container engines and what makes Podman an ideal container engine choice. You will also learn about various other tools available in Red Hat Enterprise Linux for container images creation, management etc. And finally how podman-desktop, and OpenShift Extension is bridging the gap for developer productivity for deploying containers applications from local to OpenShift clusters.

Ramakrishna Yekulla (Ramky)
Ramakrishna Reddy Yekulla, (Ramky) is a long time Red Hatter and is presently an Associate Principal Solution Architect with the Global Partners Solution Architecture in Red Hat.His focus is on leading the partner developer programs, developer engagement and Developer Relationship for the Global System Integrators and Partners. Prior to that, He was the Principal Software Engineer with Red Hat Storage. Ramky has been with Red Hat since 2005 beginning in the QA team, testing device drivers for an Intel Red Hat Community PC and testing I18N / L10N components for the RHEL Desktop and was the first engineer with Certification Engineering Team. He was the Technology Lead for the Red Hat OpenStack Certification, Software Certification, and ABI Assurance Group till 2016.He has designed, architected and developed the tools for the certification program processes for 5 distinct pieces in the PnT partner ecosystem in - Software Certification, Cloud Certification, Container Certification, Red Hat OpenStack Certification Test Suite, Software Test Suite, Kernel ABI Test Suite in the past.
