A couple of months ago, Red Hat announced the beta 1 phases of both Red Hat Developer Toolset V2.0 and Red Hat Software Collections V1.0.
Now, they are both in a beta 2 phase!
Be sure to take a look at these tools if you haven't already - we've receive a huge amount of interest in them! Both offerings provide recent, stable versions of technologies that you've been asking for.
At a high level, Developer Toolset is for gcc and Eclipse developers, and includes a number of complementary tools. The Software Collections includes the latest stable versions of dynamic programming languages (Python, Ruby, PHP, Ruby, and tech preview of Node.js) and databases (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL). See the links above for versions, details, etc.
We'd love to get your feedback on these tools, so send us an email at developer AT redhat DOT com. We're also looking for quotes and/or references for our product announcements - when they eventually happen. ;)
UPDATE: Both Red Hat Software Collections and Red Hat Developer Toolset are generally available (GA).
