DevNation Deep Dives

Deep dives are hour-long live events that delve into the fundamentals of the technology for developers. Each session will be delivered in English and will include live code and commands, as well as a live Q&A chat with verbal answers from the speakers.

Containers: April 12th at 9:30 am CET Learn about the fundamentals of Containers in this online, deep dive session. (Hans-Peter Grahsl)
Kubernetes I: April 19th at 9:30 am CET Don’t be the last one to board the Kubernetes train! Even if you’re not deploying apps to Kubernetes now, you might be soon. (Hans-Peter Grahsl)
Kubernetes II: April 26th at 9:30 am CET You learned the Kubernetes basics, so what’s next? Deploying successfully, of course! Limit the resources your application can consume, perform smooth rolling updates with proper health and readiness probes, and master the configuration of your apps. (Hans-Peter Grahsl)
OpenShift for Developers: May 5th at 9:30 am CET Learn the basics of OpenShift and Kubernetes as well as more advanced principles in this hands-on workshop. (Alex Soto)
Helm: May 17th at 9:30 am CET Deploying your application in Kubernetes can very quickly become a blend of YAML files containing many dependencies, configuration variables, and general confusion. Helm mitigates these concerns by bundling parameterizable YAML resources so that you no longer have to decipher which of the YAML files need to be changed and can instead focus on one application at a time. Meet your Speakers

Alex Soto

Alex is a Director of Developer Experience at Red Hat. He is passionate about the Java world, software automation and believes in the open source software model. Alex is the co-author of the books Testing Java Microservices and Quarkus Cookbook and is a contributor to several open source projects. A Java Champion since 2017, he is also an international speaker and teacher at Salle URL University. Hans-Peter Grahsl

Hans-Peter Grahsl is a Developer Advocate at Red Hat. He is an open-source community enthusiast and in particular passionate about event-driven architectures, distributed stream processing systems, and data engineering. For his code contributions, conference talks, and blog post-writing at the intersection of the Apache Kafka and MongoDB communities, Hans-Peter received the Confluent Community Catalyst award three times in a row and became one of the founding members of the MongoDB Champions Program. He has been a regular speaker at international tech-related and developer conferences for several years.
