Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant

The Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant is an integrated AI development tool that helps speed up Ansible content creation. It’s available to use directly in Visual Studio Code by installing the Ansible VS code extension. You can use natural language prompts to turn your automation ideas into Ansible code while learning Ansible best practices along the way. This service requires a subscription to IBM watsonx Code Assistant as the connected large language model (LLM).

AI-powered content creation

Generate single tasks, multiple tasks, or entire Ansible Playbooks and roles. Eliminate context switching by accessing Ansible Lightspeed directly in Visual Studio Code, and use the guided chat experience to help refine the model’s recommendations.

Flexible deployment options

Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant is available as either a software-as-a-service (SaaS) or an on-premise deployment for organizations with air-gapped environments.

Model customization*

Use your existing Ansible content to train the IBM watsonx Code Assistant generative AI model. Improve the quality and accuracy of your Ansible content with code recommendations that are more tailored to your organization's specific needs and automation patterns.

  • If you're not currently an Ansible Automation Platform subscriber, sign up now for a no-cost 60-day trial which includes access to Ansible Lightspeed with IBM watsonx Code Assistant. NOTE: When activating your product trial, you must also activate the Ansible Lightspeed service.
  • For current customers, start a trial of Ansible Lightspeed in Visual Studio Code by following this interactive walkthrough.

You can ask the Ansible Lightspeed intelligent assistant about anything—from Ansible Automation Platform features to how to accomplish specific tasks.
