What's New in Red Hat Developer Hub 1.10?

What is Red Hat Developer Hub?

Red Hat Developer Hub (RHDH) is our enterprise-grade platform built to solve a specific, growing problem: developer cognitive load. By leveraging Backstage — the CNCF open-source project — RHDH provides a bespoke, unified portal that centralises the fragmented tools, documentation, and resources developers need to build and deploy high-quality applications at scale.

    Reducing Friction, Increasing Flow

Rather than forcing developers to navigate a "tooling tax" of disconnected services, RHDH integrates the entire lifecycle into a single pane of glass. Whether your infrastructure lives on Red Hat OpenShift or managed cloud services like AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and Google GKE, Developer Hub ensures a consistent experience across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The Power of an Integrated Ecosystem

A portal is only as strong as its connections. RHDH seamlessly plugs into the industry's most critical DevOps tools, including:

    • Collaboration & Planning: Jira, GitHub, and GitLab
    • CI/CD & Reliability: Jenkins, Quay, ArgoCD, Dynatrace, SonarQube, and more
    • Deployment & Platforms: OpenShift, Tekton, Kubernetes, Topology

    Driving Productivity through Self-Service

By providing a broad information hub, RHDH enables true self-service. Developers can use validated Software Templates to scaffold new projects in minutes — not days — complete with built-in security and compliance. This move toward platform engineering keeps teams productive, collaborative, and focused on writing code.

Notable Features in Red Hat Developer Hub 1.10

RHDH 1.10 is based on Backstage 1.49. The headline story for this release is the General Availability of Lightspeed — RHDH's built-in AI developer assistant — now backed by a full Red Hat production SLA. Here are the most notable changes:

    AI and Lightspeed

    • [New] Lightspeed for Red Hat Developer Hub is now GA
    • [New] MCP Server: additional Backstage Scaffolder operations
    • [New] Lightspeed MCP Service Selector in Chat and Token Storage
    • [New] Lightspeed Personal AI Notebooks (Developer Preview)

    New Features in 1.10

    • Homepage is now persona-aware with RBAC-controlled layouts
    • New upstream Frontend System — available now for early adopters/testing/migration
    • Orchestrator: cloud event emission for external workflow triggers
    • Orchestrator: custom review pages for approval workflows
    • Added new Spanish & German localization (es, de)

    Enhancements in 1.10

    • Scorecard can display aggregated data
    • Scorecard plugin supports custom key values and colour-coded indicators
    • Dynamic Plugin Factory usability enhancements
    • Adoption Insights: entity titles in info cards
    • Promote RHDH must-gather to Tech Preview
