The Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated platform offers a number of documents and learning materials explaining how to use Red Hat OpenShift Data Science managed services, as well as managed services and software offered by our partners. Learning materials include how-to resources, tutorials, and quick starts.

Here's how to access the learning resource that's right for you.


Getting access to a how-to resource

A how-to resource gives you instructions and code for everyday procedures.

Follow these steps to find the how-to resource called "How to install Python packages on your notebook server" (Figure 4):

  1. Enter "python" as the search string.
  2. Change the sort to sort by type.
  3. Change the filter to Ascending.
  4. Click on the Read how-to article link to read the how-to you're interested in.

Getting access to a tutorial

Tutorials walk you through the steps needed to perform a specific set of tasks. A tutorial can be in the form of a video or code samples that reside in a Git repository.

Follow these steps to find the tutorial called "Various types of Model Servings" (Figure 5):

  1. Enter "seldon" as the search string.
  2. Change the sort to sort by name.
  3. Change the filter to Ascending.
  4. Click on the Access tutorial link to access the tutorial contents of the tutorial you're interested in.

Getting access to a quick start

Quick starts are embedded in the application itself and offer an inline tutorial experience with step-by-step instructions and tasks. This section shows what the quick start looks like for "Creating a Jupyter notebook" (Figure 6).

Follow these steps to find the quick start called "Connecting to Red Hat OpenShift Streams for Apache Kafka" (Figure 7):

  1. Enter "apache kafka" as the search string.
  2. Change the sort to sort by name.
  3. Change the filter to Ascending.
  4. Click on the Start link to get access to the quick start contents.

You can access "Getting Started with Red Hat OpenShift Data Science" documentation by clicking on the ? (question mark) icon in the upper right-hand corner and then selecting the Documentation menu item (Figure 8).
