Create a realm on Red Hat’s single sign-on portal
Note → These steps are applicable after you have completed either Part 1 or Part 2 and have been able to successfully launch Red Hat’s SSO.
The concept of a realm organizes users and their permissions. A user might have access to different applications with different permissions when in a different realm. Create a realm as follows:
- Once you log in to Red Hat’s SSO, you are redirected to the overview page of the Master realm (Figure 7).
- Create a new realm by hovering over the realm drop-down in the menu and clicking the Add realm button (Figure 8).
- Give a name to your realm. We’ll use rhoam-demo in this example (Figure 9).
- Click the Create button to create the realm.
- You are redirected to the overview screen of your new realm (Figure 10).
- The next step is to create a user for the realm. In the realm menu on the left, select Users.
- On the users overview page, click the Add user button on the right to create a new user (Figure 11).
- Fill in the form. Click Save to create the user (Figure 12).
- Open the Credentials tab and set a password for the new user. Make sure Temporary is set to OFF (Figure 13). Click Set Password to save the password (Figure 14).
