Create a realm on Red Hat’s single sign-on portal

Note → These steps are applicable after you have completed either  Part 1 or Part 2 and have been able to successfully launch Red Hat’s SSO.

The concept of a realm organizes users and their permissions. A user might have access to different applications with different permissions when in a different realm. Create a realm as follows:

  1. Once you log in to Red Hat’s SSO, you are redirected to the overview page of the Master realm (Figure 7).

  1. Create a new realm by hovering over the realm drop-down in the menu and clicking the Add realm button (Figure 8).

  1. Give a name to your realm. We’ll use rhoam-demo in this example (Figure 9).

  1. Click the Create button to create the realm.
  2. You are redirected to the overview screen of your new realm (Figure 10).

  1. The next step is to create a user for the realm. In the realm menu on the left, select Users.
  2. On the users overview page, click the Add user button on the right to create a new user (Figure 11).

  1. Fill in the form. Click Save to create the user (Figure 12).

  1. Open the Credentials tab and set a password for the new user. Make sure Temporary is set to OFF (Figure 13). Click Set Password to save the password (Figure 14).
