Join an expedition that will consist of four stops: Knative Serverless, Tekton, Argo CD GitOps, and Quarkus. This hands-on lab is being offered in English.
DevNation Deep Dives
We are pleased to invite you to be part of the DevNation Deep Dive, a live event that features two sessions focused on the most relevant technologies for software development today. The knowledge imparted is approached from the upstream Open Source projects.
The program is divided into two content modules, each with a duration of 1 hour (10 minutes of theory, 40 minutes of demo, and 10 minutes for Q&A). Don't miss the opportunity to expand your knowledge with Alex Soto, Director of Developer Experience at Red Hat and co-author of the Quarkus Cookbook.
Argo CD GitOps: March 3 / 9:30am CET
Speaker: Alex Soto
Abstract:
Having Git repositories as a single source of truth allows development teams to store the entire state of the cluster configuration in Git so that the trail of changes are visible and auditable. Argo CD is a declarative, GitOps-based, continuous delivery tool for Kubernetes. It follows the GitOps pattern of using Git repositories as the source of truth for defining the desired application state. It automates the deployment of the desired application states in the specified target environments. Application deployments can track updates to branches, tags, or pinned to a specific version of manifests at a Git commit.
What you will learn:
The fundamentals of GitOps and Argo CD
How to install and managed Argo CD in Kubernetes
How to deploy and sync applications
Use Customise with Argo CD
Use Sync Waves and Hooks with Argo CD
Quarkus I: March 10 / 9:30am CET
Speaker: Alex Soto
Abstract:
Is your Java app consuming the server’s whole memory and taking minutes to boot? And then, even more time to redeploy? Get rid of your 25-year-old Java jokes and join Alex Soto as he shows you how to use Quarkus, the supersonic, subatomic Java, in this one-hour, deep dive session which will be held on March 10th at 9:30 am CET.
What you will learn:
Quarkus setup
CRUD and RDBMS
JVM and native deployment
Custom configuration
Quarkus deployment to Kubernetes/OpenShift
Spring compatibility extensions
