Crafting Kubernetes Operators

Crafting Kubernetes Operators

DevNation Live tech talks are hosted by the Red Hat technologists who create our products. These sessions include real solutions plus code and sample projects to help you get started. In this talk, you’ll learn about crafting Kubernetes Operators from Josh Wood and Burr Sutter.

Kubernetes Operators are control plane agents that know how to manage the entire life cycle of stateful, complex, or specialized applications. With an Operator, you can extend the Kubernetes API to encode domain-specific knowledge about running, scaling, recovering, and monitoring your applications. This workshop guides you through creating and deploying an Operator using the Operator Framework and SDK, open source tools from Red Hat that simplify the process of making an Operator that packages, delivers, and manages your applications on Kubernetes.
